How to plan the perfect Bridal Shower

Posted: February 9, 2023

A bridal shower is typically the first celebration for the soon bride-to-be. It’s a great way to get the bridal party and guests better acquainted with each other and usually includes fun party games, snacks and gifts. Here you’ll find a step by step guide on how to plan a great shower for your bride!

Create a Budget Set a budget with others in the bridal party and remember to factor in all costs including venue, food, drinks and decor.

Set a Date Be Typically a shower is 2 to 6 months before the wedding. With so many important events leading up to it such as the bachelorette party, be sure to set them a good amount of months apart. Not only does it give everyone a good break in between to set the date aside but also their pockets as well.

Choose a Location Often times the Bride will offer up her home but if that’s not available it can be held anywhere from a condo party room to a restaurant or even a venue that correlates to the theme.

Create a Guestlist Be sure to have the Bride send a must invite guestlist before putting together the invites and have her check it for approval. Invites should be sent out at least 4 to 6 weeks prior to the chosen date.

Choose a Theme It’s not necessary but having a theme that aligns with the Bride’s interests will score you extra points. It also helps put together an aesthetically pleasing look for pictures and memories.

Set the Menu Hosting a luncheon? or a dinner? Decide on a menu that makes sense with the time of the Shower. Also be sure to include what the Bride likes and to be considerate of guests with dietary restrictions - invites should have a section specifying this as well.

Plan Decor If the budget allows and your able to hire a Planner or someone for decor (could be us!) then this part of the shower should be a breeze. Decorating yourself? Just remember to stay within the theme and budget, add personal touches that your Bride will appreciate and to have fun with it. We highly recommend pretty florals and a photo backdrop!

Plan Games & Activities What’s a better way to break the ice? to get your guests better acquainted with each other, fun games can definitely change the tone of the party. Most games don’t cost anything as well and creativity is key.
